Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra Gains Momentum, Sets Out from Gujarat to Spotlight BJP’s Alleged Corruption

In a bid to shed light on the alleged corruption within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and bring it to the public’s attention, the second phase of the Bharat Jodo Yatra, led by AICC leader Rahul Gandhi, is scheduled to embark from Gujarat and traverse through Maharashtra. This announcement was made by Nana Patole, the President of Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC), during a press conference on Tuesday.

Patole revealed that the padayatra, a form of foot march, will span across six divisions within the state. He further disclosed the leaders designated to lead in each division, with himself leading in Nagpur, Leader of Opposition Vijay Wadettiwar in Amravati, former Chief Minister Ashok Chavan in Marathwada, Legislature Party leader Balasaheb Thorat in North Maharashtra, and Mumbai Pradesh Congress President Varsha Gaikwad in Mumbai.

For the Konkan division, all leaders will unite to conduct a collective padayatra, as stated by Patole. He informed that senior leaders have been entrusted with the responsibility to lead padayatras in all districts across the state.

Following the completion of the padayatra, the entirety of Maharashtra will be covered through a bus yatra, Patole announced.

The MPCC chief directed criticism at the BJP government, accusing it of misleading the nation through false assurances while leaving issues concerning farmers, laborers, the economically disadvantaged, youth, and women unresolved.

Patole alleged that the BJP-led governments, both at the national and state levels, have fallen short in effectively addressing concerns like inflation, unemployment, and law and order.

He further claimed that the BJP government prioritizes its associates over the concerns of the general populace, suggesting a discrepancy in its approach to governance.

During the course of the yatra, these issues will be presented to the public through various meetings and interactions, Patole emphasized.
