Pune: In the last few days, there have been increasing instances of horrific crimes registered in Maharashtra. Many people are brazenly committing heinous crimes such as murder and vandalism. In the last month, two high-profile firing incidents set the media abuzz. In one of them, a current MLA opened fire on one person in the police station itself.
Similarly, in another incident, an ex-corporator of Shiv Sena from Mumbai was shot dead during a Facebook live. Therefore, the opposition is demanding the resignation of Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis, pointing to the severe law and order situation in the state. Amidst all this, Baramati MP Supriya Sule once again targeted a state government over the recent sword attack that took place on Pune’s Sinhagad Road, in which three people were critically injured.
Sule posted a video of this sword attack on her social media account and demanded stringent action against the perpetrators in this case. While describing recent such incidences as horrifying, she also alleged that the state government is giving patronage to hooligans for their own selfish motives.
A criminal syndicate attacked three people with swords and machetes on Wednesday in the Gorhe Budruk area of Sinhagad Road. In that accident, three people, who were riding on two-wheelers, were brutally attacked by a group of 10 to 12 people with swords and machetes. In this attack, all three men, identified as Nachiket Sanjay Jagtap, Rishikesh Dilip Jagtap, and Nilesh Hiraman Shah, received heavy injuries and were admitted to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment.
Sule, in her social media post, demanded stricter action against criminals. She said these are very shocking incidents. These incidences have ripple effects and have the potential to disturb the law and order of the state. She also accused the state government of conveniently turning a blind eye to such anti-social activities and detracting people from real-life issues.
The reason behind this attack is not yet certain. However, this recent incident has created a wave of terror in the area. Meanwhile, a police complaint has been lodged in this regard, and Haveli police are investigating further in this case.
