Pune-Solapur Highway to Witness Four-Tier Double-Decker Flyover and Metro Construction in Hadapsar

Pune-Solapur highway, notorious for its perennial traffic congestion, is set to undergo a transformative upgrade with the construction of a four-tier double-decker flyover and the introduction of a metro line between Hadapsar (Ravidarshan) and Uruli Kanchan (Khedekar Mala). The comprehensive plan, designed to tackle the traffic woes of the next 25 years, has been finalized and awaits final approval from the Ministry of National Highways.

During a gathering in Loni Kalbhor, Dr. Amol Kolhe, the Member of Parliament representing Shirur constituency, made the announcement, revealing that a substantial budget of Rs. 30,000 crore has been allocated for various highway projects in the Shirur Lok Sabha constituency over the past four years.

Following the model of the Pune-Solapur highway, the construction of a four-lane double-decker flyover, accompanied by an approved metro line connecting Chandannagar and Shikrapur, is also on the horizon. Dr. Kolhe expressed confidence that these upcoming projects, including the flyover between Ravidarshan and Uruli Kanchan and the one between Chandannagar and Shikrapur, will effectively alleviate the traffic congestion, bringing much-needed relief to commuters.

Updates on the ongoing infrastructure projects were shared during a meeting organized by the Shirur-Haveli assembly constituency in the Loni Kalbhor Gram Panchayat area of Haveli taluka. Dr. Amol Kolhe and MLA Ashok Pawar were in attendance, shedding light on the progress made in major ventures such as the Pune-Nagar and Nashik Highways, as well as the Pune-Nashik High-Speed Railway, which are expected to significantly benefit the public.

To tackle the traffic gridlock on the Pune-Solapur highway, fruitful discussions have taken place between officials from the National Highway Authority, collectors, land acquisition officers, and other stakeholders in recent days. Many objections regarding land acquisition have been successfully addressed, clearing the path for the forthcoming developments.

Dr. Kolhe assured the public that he has been actively engaged in coordinating with authorities in Delhi, and a final meeting will soon be convened to initiate the construction work once the road plan secures approval. The ambitious project holds the promise of transforming the Pune-Solapur highway into a smooth and efficient transportation route, enhancing connectivity and easing the commuting experience for all.
