Pimpri: Congress launches ‘Chikhal Feko’ stir against Maha Yuti govt

Chikhal Feko Stir

Pimpri: A symbolic ‘Chikhalo Feko’ (hurling of mud) agitation was conducted by the Pimpri Chinchwad City Congress at Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Putla Chowk on Friday (June 21) here. Workers and office-bearers led by Dr Kailas Kadam demonstrated against the Mah Yuti government by smearing a symbolic poster of the ruling alliance with mud. Slogans were also raised.

Kavichand Bhat, Amar Nanekar, Vishwanath Jagtap, Mauli Malshetty, Vitthal Shinde, Shamala Sonawane, Babu Nair, Shahabuddin Shaikh, Harish Dolas, Baba Bansode, Zuber Khan, Bhausaheb Mugutmal, Sachin Kondhare, Mayur Jaiswal, Gaurav Chowdhari, Vasant Vare, Somnath Shelke, Wahab Shaikh, Adv Ashok Dhaygude, Adv Aniket Rasal and Umesh Bansode participated in it.

Dr Kailas Kadam said, “The State and Central governments are working against the interests of farmers, workers, Dalits, minorities, youths, women, weaker sections and common people. The BJP is spreading hatred among communities in a progressive state like Maharashtra. The Maha Yuti government has tainted the image of Maharashtra.

“Citizens of the State are throwing mud at this government and condemning it. The BJP government has put a spoke into the State’s industrial development in the past 10 years. The government has stopped recruitments. Competitive exams are not held on time. Those that are held are mired in question paper leakage. Farmers are in distress. No crop gets the minimum support price. Onions, cotton, soybeans are not getting remunerative prices.

“Inflation, unemployment, paper leakages, women’s security, black marketing of fertilizers and seeds, law and order are some major issues. Children of rich people are crushing poor people to death under their luxury cars. Young women are murdered in broad daylight. The ruling party is whipping up communal tensions. This government is merely floating tenders, distributing funds and taking commission. Voters will defeat the corrupt, inactive ruling alliance in the state assembly elections.”
