Nashik (UNI) : The state government is committed to provide quality education and all educational facilities to school students, said Deepak Kesarkar, School Education Minister of Maharashtra, on Sunday.
Presiding over a review meeting of Education department officials here, he said that the educational policy will be decided for overall development of students in the coming years.
He further said that various activities will be implemented through the Education department to make students enjoy their school education.
The emphasis will be mainly on reducing the burden of the school bags and the experiment of teaching all subjects from a single book will be implemented in Maharashtra, he said.
The minister further said that free uniforms, books, notebooks and other facilities are being provided to the school students through the government to give them quality education.
Also, grants were announced in phases to solve the problem of educational institutions, he said.
But since only 25 to 30 per cent of new schools are approved from this grant, the Education department is trying to give justice to maximum educational institutions by relaxing some of the conditions, he noted.
Kesarkar further said that a massive recruitment of teachers has started along with participation of schools in a phased manner.
Under this, 30,000 teachers were recruited in the first phase and 20,000 in the second phase, he informed.
To complete the recruitment at the earliest, schools should keep the school records and rosters updated in accordance with teachers recruitment, so that the recruitment process can be carried out at a faster pace in the future, he averred.
Also, till new recruitment is not made, the services of retired teachers should be taken, so that students do not suffer any educational loss, he added.
