Ambadas Danve wonders if Modi is only prime minister of Gujarat

Ambadas Danve

Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, June 26 (UNI) Leader of Opposition in Maharashtra Legislative Council Ambadas Danve on Monday wondered why the “cream outcome” of the Narendra Modi government’s initiatives go to just one state – Gujarat – when the entire country has elected him as the nation’s Prime Minister.

In a message on his Twitter handle, Danve said Google CEO Sundar Pichai, who met Modi on Friday in Washington, announced that the tech giant would start a fintech centre in Gujarat state.

Danve wondered whether Modi is PM of Gujarat only and sought to know if Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde would like to clarify on the matter.

“Are other states only for taali and thaali,” he asked.

His comment was in reference to Modi asking people to clap and ring bells on March 22, 2020, during the beginning of the Covid pandemic as a show of appreciation for the doctors and other frontline workers battling the virus. Besides clapping, people across the country had also responded by banging utensils in response to Modi’s appeal.

Danve also took a dig at Shinde, who had emerged as one of the top five leaders searched in the internet in 33 countries after he led a revolt in the Shiv Sena and became the state chief minister last year.

“No wonder our state chief minister Shinde who got famous in ’33 countries’ don’t have anything to do about it,” Danve Tweeted.
