Vande Bharat Express Launches Service Between Kalaburagi and Bengaluru

In a significant development for Karnataka’s rail connectivity, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the maiden journey of the Kalaburagi-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express train service via video conferencing on March 12, 2024. This introduction marks a notable enhancement in railway infrastructure, promising efficient travel between the two cities.

The regular service schedule for the Vande Bharat Express train is outlined as follows:

  • Kalaburagi-Bengaluru Vande Bharat Express (Train No. 22231): Departing from Kalaburagi daily (except Fridays) at 05:15 hrs, commencing from March 16, 2024, and reaching Sir M. Visvesvaraya Terminal Bengaluru at 14:00 hrs on the same day.
  • Bengaluru-Kalaburagi Vande Bharat Express (Train No. 22232): Operating from Sir M. Visvesvaraya Terminal Bengaluru daily (except Thursdays) at 14:40 hrs, starting from March 15, 2024, and arriving at Kalaburagi at 23:30 hrs on the same day.

The Vande Bharat Express will make halts at strategic locations, including Raichur, Mantralayam Road, Guntakal, Anantapur, and Yelahanka, ensuring connectivity along its route.

Comprising 1 AC Executive class and 7 AC Chair Cars, the train offers comfortable and luxurious travel options to passengers.

Reservation for Train No. 22231 opened on March 14, 2024, facilitating bookings at all Passenger Reservation System (PRS) counters and through the official website www.irctc.co.in.
