Uttar Pradesh Government Greenlights Metro Expansion: Greater Noida to Witness Connectivity Boost

In a pivotal move for Greater Noida’s public transport system, the Uttar Pradesh government has given its nod to the extension of the metro corridor from Sector-51, Noida, to Bodaki, passing through Junpat. This expansion, encompassing approximately 2.6 kilometers of elevated track, introduces two new stations and holds the promise of revolutionizing daily commutes for thousands.

Key Highlights of the Metro Extension:

New Stations: The extension welcomes the addition of two new stations, Junpat and Bodaki, expanding the accessibility of the metro service to a broader population.

Project Approval: The state cabinet’s approval of the metro expansion signifies the recognition of the critical need for enhanced transport facilities in the region.

Multi-Modal Transport Hub: This expansion aligns with a broader vision of developing a multi-modal transport hub in Bodaki, aiming to integrate rail, metro, inter-state bus services, and local transport.

Current Metro Service: Presently, the Aqua Line metro operates from Sector-51 in Noida to the Jaitpur Depot in Greater Noida. The extension aims to elongate this route to Bodaki.

Budget Allocations: Previously stalled due to budget constraints, the government’s approval now paves the way for the implementation of the Detailed Project Report (DPR) with a proposed budget of 416.34 crores INR.

Improved Connectivity: The extension is anticipated to enhance connectivity, particularly benefiting commuters from Dadri, Greater Noida, and Noida, facilitating direct travel routes to Delhi.
