Tragedy Strikes in Jamtara: Train Accident Claims 2 Lives, Multiple Injured

In a devastating incident at Kalajharia railway station in Jamtara, Jharkhand, a train accident claimed the lives of at least two people, leaving several others injured. The tragic event unfolded when passengers aboard the Anga Express, traveling from Bhagalpur to Bengaluru, attempted to escape what they believed was a fire on the train.

Upon hearing rumors of a fire, panicked passengers disembarked from the Anga Express and attempted to cross the tracks to distance themselves from the perceived threat. However, their escape took a tragic turn when another train, on the same tracks, collided with them, resulting in the loss of lives and causing multiple injuries.

Rescue teams are actively engaged in assisting the injured. The Deputy Commissioner of Jamtara reported the dispatch of medical teams, four ambulances, and three buses to transport the injured to Jamtara, located approximately 15 kilometers from the accident site.
