Harda, Madhya Pradesh, February 6, 2024 – A devastating explosion at a firecracker factory in Bairagarh village, Harda district, Madhya Pradesh, claimed the lives of at least six people and left fifty-nine others injured on Tuesday morning. The incident has prompted an extensive response from local authorities, with rescue operations and medical teams working tirelessly to address the aftermath.
The injured individuals have been swiftly admitted to nearby hospitals, where medical staff is attending to their needs. Some of the victims are reported to be in critical condition, adding to the urgency of the situation, as stated by the Harda District Magistrate.
Following the orders from the Betul Collector, the Chief Medical and Health Officer has deployed a medical team, comprising two doctors and support staff, along with four 108 ambulances, to provide immediate medical assistance in Harda.
In response to the fire incident, fifteen personnel from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) have been dispatched from the Betul district to aid in the rescue efforts. The team includes four home guards, one police constable, one head inspector, a vehicle driver, three fire extinguishers, five stretchers, one compressor machine, fifteen gumboots, fifteen helmets, and four full-body harnesses.
The ambulances, coordinated by SDRF, have been mobilized to transport the injured to medical facilities. The ongoing rescue operation aims to ensure the safety of residents in the vicinity and address the impact of the tragic incident.
