The Chief Electoral Office in New Delhi has issued a statement revealing the tentative date for the 2024 Lok Sabha General Election as 16th April 2024. Addressed to the District Election Officers (DEOs) across all 11 Districts in the National Capital Territory (NCT) Delhi, the statement, issued by T. Misao, Assistant Chief Electoral Officer, outlines crucial information about the election timeline and related activities.

According to the statement, the Election Planner issued by the Election Commission of India (ECI) includes various activities leading up to the election, along with specific timelines for each activity’s commencement and conclusion. For the upcoming General Election to the Lok Sabha in 2024, the Commission has tentatively set the Poll Day as 16.04.2024, providing a reference point for calculating start and end dates in the Election Planner.

The statement emphasizes the importance of adhering to the specified timelines for initiating and completing each election activity mentioned in the Election Planner. It further instructs District Election Officers to send reports to the COE Branch, Office of CEO Delhi, at least one day prior to the start and end dates of the activities.

As the electoral machinery gears up for the 2024 Lok Sabha Elections, the announcement of the tentative date sets the stage for the meticulous planning and execution of various election-related activities.
