Surat’s Evolution: JW Marriott Resort & Spa Set to Redefine Luxury Hospitality

Surat, Gujarat, is on the cusp of a transformative journey into the realm of luxury hospitality with the announcement of the JW Marriott Resort & Spa. In a strategic partnership between Gujarat JHM Hotels (GJHM) and U.S.-based Auro Hotels, the renowned JW Marriott brand is poised to make its mark on the city’s skyline. This momentous collaboration, formalized on January 11, 2024, at the Surat Marriott Hotel, involves key figures such as Rajeev Menon, President of Asia Pacific for Marriott International, and DJ Rama, President & CEO of Auro Hotels.

The Luxurious JW Marriott Resort & Spa Is Coming To Surat

GJHM, led by the Rama family, has already left an indelible mark with Marriott International in Surat through the Surat Marriott Hotel and Courtyard by Marriott Surat. The upcoming JW Marriott Surat Resort & Spa is poised to elevate the city’s hospitality landscape. Anticipated to feature 300+ guestrooms and villas, the resort will offer four diverse dining options, a JW Lounge, and recreational facilities including an outdoor swimming pool, fitness center, spa, and kids’ club. Boasting 10,000 sq. feet of meeting and ballroom space, the hotel is strategically positioned to cater to medium to large-scale events.

Positioned as an “urban resort,” the JW Marriott Surat Resort & Spa aims to seamlessly blend luxury with contemporary design, providing elevated experiences for both domestic and international travelers. Nestled within the Earthspace campus alongside Auro University and Courtyard by Marriott Surat, the resort’s location facilitates the integration of hotel operations with educational initiatives, fostering the development of future leaders in the hospitality industry.

Rama Family’s Full-Circle Moment With JW Marriott

The broader vision for the Earthspace development project includes creating a cohesive space for work, dining, recreation, and living in Hazira, a suburb of Surat. Alongside the JW Marriott Surat Resort & Spa, Auro Hotels is also developing the Earthspace Convention Centre, a 100,000 sq. ft. facility designed to host national conferences and exhibitions, contributing to Surat’s growth and vibrancy.

DJ Rama, expressing pride in the affiliation with Marriott International, sees the addition of the upscale JW Marriott brand as a significant milestone for Auro Hotels. With a reflection on their 50 years in the hotel business, he considers this venture a full-circle moment for the organization.

GJHM’s Chairman, HP Rama, underscores their commitment to Surat’s progress, framing the project with Marriott International as more than a business agreement. He envisions it as a shared vision for holistic development, emphasizing a commitment to uplifting communities and fostering enduring prosperity. Together, GJHM and Auro Hotels are laying the foundation for an impactful collaboration that extends beyond the realms of luxury hospitality.
