In a significant move towards simplifying the process of obtaining a driving license, the government has launched an online application system. With the imposition of heavy fines for driving without a valid license, it becomes imperative for individuals to adhere to legal requirements, and this new digital platform aims to facilitate just that.
To initiate the application process online, applicants are required to furnish essential documents, including a passport-sized photo, signature, learning license number, mobile number, Aadhar card, residence certificate, and address proof. Additionally, a date of birth certificate is mandated.
Outlined below are the steps to be followed for submitting an online driving license application:
Step 1: Visit sarathi.parivahan.gov.in. Step 2: Select your respective state. Step 3: Navigate to the “New Driving License” option under the “Driving License” menu. Step 4: Input your learning license number and Date of Birth (DOB). Step 5: Complete the application form with accurate details. Step 6: Proceed by clicking on the “Next” button. Step 7: Upon completion, schedule an appointment with the Regional Transport Office (RTO) and ensure to carry all original documents along with the fee slip.
This user-friendly process not only eliminates the need for physical visits to government offices but also ensures a swift and efficient approach to acquiring a driving license from the comfort of one’s home.
