Roche Unveils Cutting-Edge Experience Centre in Chennai to Drive Healthcare Innovation

In a stride towards fostering healthcare innovation and collaboration, Roche Pharma India has inaugurated its pioneering customer experience centre in Chennai. This visionary initiative serves as a nexus for engagement with healthcare professionals, researchers, and educational institutions, fostering the creation of revolutionary health technology products. The centre was inaugurated by TRB Rajaa, the Minister of Industries for the state, and promises immersive and interactive healthcare systems that offer insights into Roche’s extensive product portfolio and state-of-the-art technologies. With a focus on leveraging data, insights, and visualization techniques, Roche aims to enhance patient care through their customers’ augmented capabilities.

Immersive Learning:

The centre’s offerings extend to a unique and innovative learning experience. Medical practitioners, academic researchers, and students will be provided with the opportunity to visualize disease pathways and the action of pharmaceuticals within the human body. This is facilitated through cutting-edge technologies such as Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools present in the centre. V Simpson Emmanuel, MD & CEO of Roche Pharma India, affirmed that the centre’s goal is to enable customers to harness these technologies for impactful patient care.

Future Expansion:

Roche’s customer experience centre is not a standalone endeavor. The company envisions similar setups across various locations within India, as well as on a global scale. By offering these immersive and educational environments, Roche aims to provide its customers with first-hand experiences of biopharma innovations, thereby promoting advancements in healthcare delivery.

Academic Collaboration:

The centre’s influence extends to the academic realm. Roche has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with prominent educational institutions in Tamil Nadu, including SASTRA Deemed University, Vellore Institute of Technology, Kumaraguru College Of Technology, and Saveetha Institute of Medical and Technical Science. Through this collaboration, select students will be offered two-year internships with the renowned Swiss pharmaceutical company. These programs aim to foster skill-building in immersive technologies and data analytics among students from these institutions.

Government Appreciation:

The establishment of the Roche Customer Experience Centre in Chennai has garnered appreciation from the local government. T R B Rajaa, Minister for Industries, Investment Promotion, and Commerce for Tamil Nadu, hailed the move as a testament to the region’s skilled workforce and its global healthcare superiority. The centre is poised to enable healthcare professionals to grasp advanced and innovative treatment options, thereby enhancing healthcare delivery and impact.

Roche’s Continued Technological Endeavors:

Roche’s foray into digital technology is not a new development. The company has a notable presence in India through various digital initiatives. These include Roche Information Solutions, a global capability centre situated in Pune, and the two Global Analytics & Technology (GATE) Centers in Chennai and Hyderabad. These GATE centers focus on commercial analytics, forecasting, automation, and market access. Additionally, Roche’s offshore development center in Chennai, established in partnership with ZS Associates, furthers their commitment to business data operations, data quality management, and global analytical product support.
