Prime Minister Modi Inaugurates Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam 2023, Paving the Way for an Education Revolution

New Delhi, 29th July 2023: In a momentous event today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the prestigious Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam 2023 at the esteemed Bharat Mandapam in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. This two-day event, coinciding with the third anniversary of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, aims to foster discussions on crucial topics pertaining to education.

The Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam features sixteen sessions encompassing a wide array of subjects, including Equitable and Inclusive Education, National Institute Ranking Framework, Internationalisation of Education, Access to Quality Education and Governance, and Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Group Issues.

During the program, Prime Minister Modi took a significant stride by announcing the inaugural allocation of funds from the PM SHRI Scheme. This initiative focuses on empowering schools to nurture students into active, productive, and contributing citizens, aligning with the vision outlined in the NEP 2020 to create an equitable, inclusive, and plural society.

Moreover, Prime Minister Modi unveiled books on education and skill development, translated into 12 Indian languages, further advancing the accessibility and dissemination of knowledge. The Shiksha Mahakumbh, a two-day event, was inaugurated with an inspiring address from the Prime Minister. Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan extended a warm welcome to Prime Minister Modi during the opening ceremony.

The timing of the second edition of the Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam is perfectly synchronized with the implementation of the National Environment Policy 2020. Prior to the event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with children attending the Samagam and visited an exhibition showcasing the remarkable work of students from across the country.

The inaugural session commenced at 10 a.m. and was made accessible to audiences through various platforms, including Doordarshan, prominent television channels, YouTube, and the official webcast portal at webcast.gov.in/moe. This broad accessibility allowed viewers from diverse backgrounds to witness the event live. The Samagam serves as an excellent platform for academics, teachers, policymakers, sector experts, industry representatives, and students from schools, higher education, and skilling institutions to exchange insights, share success stories, and discuss best practices for effectively implementing the NEP 2020 and devising strategies to advance it further.

The National Education Policy, conceptualized with Prime Minister Modi’s visionary leadership, aims to nurture and prepare the youth to lead the nation into a prosperous future (Amrit Kaal). It underscores the significance of equipping children with the necessary skills to confront future challenges while instilling them with fundamental human values.

The Akhil Bhartiya Shiksha Samagam 2023, a testament to the government’s commitment to transforming India’s education landscape, has set the stage for an education revolution that will shape the future of the nation and its generations to come.
