Lepakshi, Andhra Pradesh: Prime Minister Narendra Modi embarked on a spiritual sojourn, offering prayers at the Veerbhadra Temple in Lepakshi, Andhra Pradesh, just days before the consecration ceremony of the Ayodhya Ram Mandir. The Veerbhadra Temple, dedicated to the fiery form of Lord Shiva, holds a special place in the cultural and religious tapestry of India.

Symbolic Ties to Ramayana and Divine Connection

The Veerbhadra Temple is intricately connected to the epic Ramayana, featuring idols of Hindu deities such as Vishnu, Papaneswara, Lakshmi, Ganesh, and Durga within its sacred complex. Prime Minister Modi, clad in traditional attire, was captured in a video shared by news agency ANI performing the “aarti” and absorbing verses from the Ranganatha Ramayan, written in Telugu, in the serene ambience of the temple.

Preserving Legends: PM Modi’s Rendition of ‘Shri Ram Jai Ram’

In a poignant moment, another video showcased Prime Minister Modi singing the ‘Shri Ram Jai Ram’ bhajan within the temple premises. The Lepakshi temple holds historical significance, believed to be the spot where the mythical bird Jatayu fell after attempting to thwart Ravan during the abduction of Goddess Sita. As the legend goes, Lord Ram, upon reaching the site, uttered the words “Le Pakshi” in Telugu, directing the wounded bird to rise.
