India’s Employment Milestone: PM Hands Out 51,000+ Appointment Letters at Rozgar Mela

In a significant move to bolster employment opportunities and strengthen the workforce, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi addressed the National Rozgar Mela through video conferencing, where he distributed more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited individuals in various Government departments and organizations across India.

Empowering New Recruits Nationwide

These recruits, hailing from diverse regions of the country, are set to join different Ministries and Departments, including the Ministry of Railways, Department of Posts, Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Revenue, Department of Higher Education, Department of School Education and Literacy, and the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, among others. Notably, 37 locations nationwide were connected to the Mela during the Prime Minister’s address.

A Milestone in India’s Employment Drive

In his address, Prime Minister Modi highlighted the journey of Rozgar Melas, an initiative that began last October and has since provided thousands of youths with appointment letters for government positions. The Prime Minister celebrated the distribution of over 50,000 appointment letters, marking another milestone in India’s mission to generate employment opportunities for its youth.

Transparency and Streamlined Recruitment

Prime Minister Modi emphasized the government’s commitment to creating a transparent system for employment, building trust among the youth in the recruitment process. He noted that not only are job opportunities being provided but that the recruitment processes are being restructured to expedite and simplify them. The time taken for recruitment under the staff selection cycle has been significantly reduced, allowing for quicker placement of candidates. The Prime Minister also mentioned that several examinations under the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) are now available in 13 regional languages, making them more accessible to aspirants.

Diverse Opportunities in a Growing India

Prime Minister Modi referred to the rapid development across various sectors in India, creating a multitude of job opportunities. He highlighted the Dhordo village’s recognition by the United Nations as the best tourism village, the World Heritage site status for the Hoysala temple complex, and developments in Shanti Niketan. Additionally, advancements in sports are opening up new avenues for the youth.

Strengthening Traditional and Emerging Sectors

The Prime Minister stressed the government’s efforts to bolster traditional sectors while promoting new ones, including renewable energy, space, automation, and defense exports. He touched upon the growth in the drone technology sector, where drones are being used for crop assessment and nutrient spraying, among other applications. The Swamitva Scheme’s use of drones for land mapping and drone deliveries in remote regions of Himachal Pradesh further exemplified the technology’s potential.

Resurgence of Khadi and Skilled Youth

PM Modi celebrated the resurgence of Khadi, which has seen a remarkable increase in sales, benefiting the Khadi and village industries sector, particularly women. He highlighted various skilling and education initiatives, including the New National Education Policy, establishment of new medical colleges, IITs, IIMs, IIITs, and the training of millions of youths through PM Kaushal Vikas Yojana. The PM Vishwakarma Yojana has been introduced to connect Vishwakarmas with modern technology and tools.

Youth as Nation Builders

The Prime Minister reiterated that employment generation for the youth is integral to nation-building and India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation. He commended the new recruits, recognizing their role as important allies in realizing India’s goals. He encouraged them to contribute wholeheartedly, continue their learning journey, and leverage the iGOT Karmayogi portal for self-improvement. Prime Minister Modi urged them to promote the “Vocal for Local” message, supporting the generation of employment opportunities within the country.
