Passenger Injured in Shocking Incident as Burning Mobile Phone Thrown from Pune to Ayodhya Astha Express

In a startling incident on February 6, chaos unfolded among passengers of the Astha special train traveling from Pune to Ayodhya as an unidentified person threw a burning mobile phone, injuring a woman passenger. The train, organized for devotees on their pilgrimage to Ayodhya for the darshan of Lord Ram, became the scene of a disturbing event between Chinchwad and Dehu Road railway stations.

The incident occurred during the departure of the Astha special train from Chinchwad station at 7:25 pm. Between 7:52 pm and 7:59 pm, an unidentified assailant threw a burning object, later identified as a mobile phone, which struck Chhaya Haribhau Kashid, causing her injuries.

The train continued its journey, reaching Panvel railway station at 10:22 pm. Prompt action by the railway police at Panvel led to the immediate seizure of the burning mobile phone and other suspicious items, ensuring the safety of passengers on board.

Both Panvel Railway Police and Panvel City Police maintained tight security measures upon the train’s arrival at Panvel station. A case has been registered with Pune Railway Police, and statements from the injured female passenger and others involved in the incident have been recorded.

As authorities investigate this shocking occurrence, concerns arise about the safety of passengers on pilgrimage trains, emphasizing the need for increased vigilance and security measures.
