In a significant development for the Indian film industry, the Government of India’s Information and Broadcasting Ministry has nominated acclaimed actor and producer Pallavi Joshi as a Member of the Film and Television Institute of India (FTII) Society. Pallavi Joshi, celebrated for her remarkable performances in films like ‘Woh Chokri’ and ‘The Tashkent Files,’ brings a wealth of experience and expertise to this prestigious position.
The orders for Pallavi Joshi’s appointment were released recently, in accordance with Rule 3 (1) (11) of the FTII Rules, where individuals of eminence are designated by the Government of India to serve as members of the FTII Society. Her tenure as a Member of the FTII Society will be effective from March 8, 2024, to September 3, 2026.
Pallavi Joshi’s journey in cinema began as a child artist, and she has since made significant contributions to parallel cinema. Notable roles in films like “Rihaee” and “Rukmavati Ki Haveli” have earned her acclaim. As a producer at IamBuddha, Pallavi Joshi received the National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for her outstanding performance in “The Kashmir Files” (2019). Her nomination to the FTII Society reflects her dedication to the Indian film industry and arts education.
