The railway administration has granted permission for trains, including the 22221/2 Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus-Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express, to operate at a speed of 130 km per hour. Here are the details of the recent developments and their impact.

Infrastructure Upgrades Completed: Boosting Train Speeds

The completion of key infrastructure projects, including track widening, overhead wire system regulation, signal enhancements, and other mechanization efforts, has been accomplished in the Igatpuri-Bhusawal-Badnera section of the Central Railways. These upgrades aim to enhance the operational efficiency and speed of trains on the specified routes.

Current Railway Section Conditions: A Comprehensive Overview

  1. Igatpuri to Bhusawal Section:
    • Railway track length: 308 km.
  2. Bhusawal to Badnera Section:
    • Railway track length: 218.53 km.
  3. Igatpuri to Badnera Section (Including Track Strengthening):
    • Railway track length: 526.65 km.

Speed Permissions and Future Plans:

  1. Current 130 kmph Routes:
    • Pune-Daund (75.59 km).
    • Igatpuri-Badnera (526 km).
    • Itarsi-Ballarshah (509 km).
  2. Ongoing Work:
    • Strengthening of the 337.44 km railway track in the Daund to Wadi section.
  3. Future Prospects:
    • Trains to operate at a speed of 130 km per hour between Daund and Wadi upon project completion.
  4. Upcoming Speed Revisions:
    • From November 14, all trains will run at the revised speed.
