NPTI and PTC India Forge Alliance for Joint R&D in Energy Sector, Focusing on Sustainable Development Goals

Collaborative Effort Aims to Establish Center of Excellence for Research and Capacity Building in Power Sector

New Delhi, India – In a significant move towards advancing sustainable development goals in the energy sector, the National Power Training Institute (NPTI) and PTC India Ltd. have formalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a Center of Excellence (CoE) for Research & Development. The collaboration, aimed at fostering innovation and knowledge dissemination, underscores a shared commitment to addressing key challenges in the power sector while promoting sustainability.

The CoE will serve as a hub for research, development, and capacity building initiatives focused on enhancing energy efficiency, renewable energy integration, and overall sustainability in power generation and distribution. The outcomes of the CoE’s research endeavors will be leveraged to provide training and capacity-building programs for industry professionals, facilitating the adoption of best practices and cutting-edge technologies.

The MoU, signed at the Ministry of Power office in New Delhi on 28th March, 2024, marks a significant milestone in the partnership between NPTI and PTC India Ltd. Dr. Tripta Thakur, Director General of NPTI, and Ms. Koel Singhal, Senior Vice President (HR) of PTC India Ltd., signed the agreement in the presence of Shri Pankaj Agarwal, Secretary of the Ministry of Power, Government of India.

Commenting on the collaboration, Dr. Tripta Thakur emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in driving innovation and sustainability in the energy sector. Ms. Koel Singhal reiterated PTC India’s commitment to leveraging research and development initiatives to address evolving challenges and contribute to the nation’s energy transition.
