National Half-Day Holiday Declared for Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha: A Day of Cultural Significance

In anticipation of the historic Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha ceremony scheduled for January 22, the Central Government has announced a half-day holiday for all its offices, institutions, and industrial establishments. This decision, aimed at accommodating the enthusiasm of the people, allows citizens across the country to witness the live telecast of the Ram Lala Pran Pratishtha program.

Union Minister Jitendra Singh, in a statement, emphasized the cultural significance of the ceremony and the government’s commitment to ensuring widespread participation.

Official Declaration and State Alignments:

In an official communication, the government declared that all central government offices will remain closed until 2:30 pm on January 22. This aligns with several states, including Uttar Pradesh, where Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath extended the holiday to educational institutions and announced the closure of liquor shops.

Haryana has decided to keep schools closed for public safety, accompanied by a designated dry day. Madhya Pradesh will observe closures in cannabis and liquor shops, along with school holidays. Chhattisgarh has declared closures for all schools and colleges on the day of the Pran Pratistha ceremony.

Goa’s state government has declared a holiday for government employees and schools on January 22, in line with the national observance.

Ram Temple Consecration Details:

The consecration ceremony of the Ram temple is set to take place on January 22, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi leading the rituals for the consecration of Ram Lalla. The ongoing rituals, spanning seven days, mark the third day today.

As the nation eagerly awaits this significant cultural event, the half-day holiday underscores the importance of communal participation and reflects the unity in celebrating India’s rich cultural heritage.
