The Madhya Pradesh Congress has made a significant move by unveiling its first list of 144 candidates for the upcoming 2023 assembly elections. While the Congress has shown considerable thoughtfulness in candidate selection, one interesting aspect is its decision to field actor Vikram Mastal in the contest against Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan in Budhni. Balaghat district stands out as well, as the BJP has not yet named its candidate to contest in this area, potentially leading to a woman-versus-woman contest if the BJP fields Gauri Shankar Bisen’s daughter, Mausam.
