Indrani Balan Foundation and Art of Living Join Forces, Pledge Rs 3 Crore Aid to Transform Schools

In a significant philanthropic move, the ‘Indrani Balan Foundation’ has pledged Rs 3 crores to support schools affiliated with the ‘Art of Living Institute.’ A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) solidifying this commitment was recently signed at the AOL–Triveni Ashram in Pune, with the presence of Spiritual Guru and Founder of Art of Living Institute Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and his sister Bhanumati.

The ‘Indrani Balan Foundation’ has been actively involved in the education sector, and this collaborative agreement aims to contribute to the construction and improvement of schools in three villages as outlined in the agreement. The foundation’s support will extend to the creation of necessary infrastructure facilities for the students.

According to the MoU, the ‘Indrani Balan Foundation’ will fund the construction of four classrooms, toilets, and classroom infrastructure for the Shikhar Shingnapur School of Art of Living. Additionally, 32-seater school buses will be provided to facilitate transportation for students. Similar facilities will be established for Art of Living’s school at Dahigaon (Solapur) and the village school of Devachi Jali (Pune). The total estimated cost of these initiatives is Rs. 3 crores.

The initiative aims to expedite the construction projects, ensuring that students can benefit from the improved facilities starting from the upcoming academic year.

Punit Balan, a young entrepreneur and president of the Indrani Balan Foundation, expressed admiration for the extensive social work undertaken by the ‘Art of Living’ under the guidance of Spiritual Guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. Balan highlighted the inspiration drawn from the impactful work in spirituality, education, and the environment. The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to contributing positively to society, with a focus on fostering educational opportunities for students in these villages.
