Indore’s Grand Transformation: 7-Storied, 10 Times Bigger Railway Station Building Unveiled

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): In a major development, the city of Indore is gearing up for a monumental change with the unveiling of its new railway station building. The upcoming structure promises to be a spectacular seven-storied marvel, dwarfing its predecessor by a staggering tenfold.

Scheduled for a virtual foundation stone-laying ceremony on February 26, the event will be graced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The announcement was made by MP Shankar Lalwani, who shared insights into the grandeur that awaits the city.

The new railway station, boasting a built-up area of 4.56 lakh square feet, signifies a remarkable leap from the current station’s modest 50,000 square feet. Lalwani expressed gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi, emphasizing that the new building is meticulously designed to cater to the city’s needs for the next five decades.

Anticipated to be operational by 2027, the seven-storied structure will feature a concourse atop all four platforms, housing a variety of shops catering to passengers’ diverse needs. Lalwani disclosed that an initial investment of Rs 495 crores will be allocated for the first phase of construction.

In addition to its vast expanse, the new railway station is set to be equipped with modern amenities, including 26 lifts and 17 escalators, ensuring seamless connectivity and convenience for commuters. The project signifies a significant stride towards enhancing the city’s infrastructure and is poised to become a landmark in the region.

As Indore prepares for this transformative journey, the new railway station building stands as a testament to progressive urban planning and a commitment to meeting the evolving needs of the city’s residents.
