In a significant leap forward for accessibility, IndiGo has launched direct flight operations connecting Mumbai and Ayodhya. The daily flights, operational since January 15, aim to streamline travel and provide increased convenience for passengers seeking to reach the sacred temple town in Uttar Pradesh.

Connecting Major Cities to Ayodhya: The commencement of direct flights follows IndiGo’s strategic decision to operate from the recently inaugurated Maharishi Valmiki International Airport in Ayodhya since December 30, 2023. The airline has been actively facilitating regular commercial flights connecting Ayodhya with Delhi and Ahmedabad, further expanding its network and enhancing connectivity.

Vinay Malhotra, Head of Global Sales at IndiGo, expressed enthusiasm about the new route, stating, “We are pleased to commence direct flights between Mumbai and Ayodhya. With this, we have connected 3 major cities (Delhi, Ahmedabad, and now Mumbai) to Ayodhya within weeks of the airport’s inauguration.”

He added, “Our customers will now have multiple options connecting to Ayodhya from our extensive 6E network, within India as well as overseas.”

Gateway to Ayodhya’s Rich Heritage: Ayodhya, steeped in religious, historical, and cultural significance, serves as the sacred birthplace of Lord Rama. The city boasts ancient temples, ghats, and sacred sites that attract pilgrims and tourists globally. Notably, the much-anticipated Ram Mandir, a significant landmark, holds a prominent place in Ayodhya’s cultural landscape.

Flight Details: As of January 15, Flight No. 6E 5378 departs from Mumbai at 12:30 pm, landing in Ayodhya at 2:45 pm daily. Flight No. 6E 5379 departs from Ayodhya at 3:15 pm and lands in Mumbai at 5:40 pm daily.

Catering to Growing Demand: The introduction of the Mumbai-Ayodhya route aims to address the increasing demand for accessible air travel to Ayodhya. This move is expected to facilitate smoother journeys for pilgrims, tourists, and regular travelers alike, contributing to the cultural and economic vibrancy of the region.
