IMD’s Weather Outlook: Diverse Patterns Forecasted Across India

From Cyclonic Circulations to Western Disturbances, Anticipating Varied Meteorological Phenomena

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has released its comprehensive forecast, outlining a range of weather patterns expected to unfold across different regions of India in the coming days. From cyclonic circulations to the impact of Western Disturbances, diverse meteorological phenomena are on the horizon, prompting citizens to stay vigilant and informed.

Regional Weather Systems and Projections: Under the influence of various weather systems, the IMD anticipates diverse meteorological phenomena across different regions. A cyclonic circulation over southeast Rajasthan and accompanying troughs are likely to trigger isolated to scattered rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning, and gusty winds over several states, including Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, and Marathwada.

Western Disturbance Impact: An active Western Disturbance is forecasted to affect Northwest India from April 12, bringing isolated rainfall and snowfall over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. Moreover, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan are likely to experience scattered to fairly widespread rainfall with thunderstorms and gusty winds. Hailstorms and dust storms are also predicted in certain regions.

Extended Projections for East India and Himalayan Regions: In the eastern and northeastern parts of India, scattered to fairly widespread rainfall along with isolated thunderstorms and lightning are expected over the next week. Additionally, isolated hailstorms are anticipated in Sikkim.

Maximum Temperature Trends: Yesterday, maximum temperatures soared above normal levels in various regions, including West Rajasthan, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, and parts of Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh. Similar conditions are anticipated to persist in certain areas in the coming days. Conversely, minimum temperatures are above normal over Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand.

Warnings Issued by IMD: The IMD has issued warnings for hot and humid weather in several regions, including Kerala and Mahe, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam, Coastal Karnataka, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, Karaikal, and Rayalaseema. These conditions are expected to prevail over the next few days.
