Historic Day: PM Modi Inaugurates ‘Yashobhoomi’ in Dwarka, a Global Meeting Hub

In a momentous event scheduled for Sunday, September 17, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate ‘Yashobhoomi,’ the world’s largest meeting, incentives, conference, and exhibition facility, situated in Dwarka. This groundbreaking ceremony will also witness the formal inauguration of the metro station in Dwarka Sector-25, which will henceforth be known as the India International Convention and Expo Center (IICEC) or simply ‘Yashobhoomi.’

Yashobhoomi: A Monumental Achievement

Spanning an impressive total area of 8.9 lakh square meters, Yashobhoomi dwarfs even Pragati Maidan’s ‘Bharat Mandapam.’ This colossal convention center encompasses over 73 thousand square meters of space and includes 15 convention rooms, a mini auditorium, a grand ballroom, and 13 meeting rooms. It has the capacity to host a staggering 11 thousand delegations. However, due to the momentous inauguration event led by PM Modi, several roads in Delhi will experience temporary closures, causing traffic disruptions that are expected to persist throughout the day, stretching from NH-48 to Nirmal Dham Nala (UER-II).

IICEC: A Global Landmark

The India International Convention and Expo Center (IICEC) in Dwarka, Delhi, has been meticulously developed to set a new standard for hosting world-class meetings, conferences, and exhibitions. This marvel of architecture and engineering boasts a colossal project area exceeding 8.9 lakh square meters, with a built-up area exceeding 1.8 lakh square meters. It proudly holds the distinction of being the world’s largest IICEC. Yashobhoomi, an embodiment of grandeur, has been erected at an estimated cost of Rs 5400 crore and encompasses an impressive convention center, sprawling exhibition halls, and other cutting-edge facilities.

Covering an expansive area of more than 73 thousand square meters, IICEC is replete with a primary auditorium, a grand ballroom, 15 conference rooms, and 13 meeting rooms. This monumental facility can comfortably accommodate up to 11,000 delegates and approximately 6 thousand guests. Furthermore, equipped with state-of-the-art technical amenities, the auditorium is poised to host a myriad of exhibitions, trade fairs, and business events in the foreseeable future.

Traffic Advisory

As Delhi prepares to witness this historic inauguration, the Delhi Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory to ensure the smooth flow of traffic. Commuters are strongly urged to adhere to the guidelines provided. Notably, the road from NH-48 to Nirmal Dham Nala will be affected for the duration of the day. As an alternative to heading towards Nirmal Dham Nala from NH-48, travelers are advised to consider alternative routes to minimize disruptions.

The inauguration of ‘Yashobhoomi’ by Prime Minister Narendra Modi marks a pivotal moment in India’s pursuit of world-class infrastructure and facilities. This colossal convention center promises to become a global landmark, facilitating international meetings and fostering economic growth. As the nation stands at the threshold of this momentous event, the world eagerly awaits the contributions and accomplishments that will undoubtedly emerge from within its grand halls.
