Gateway to Efficiency: Yamuna Expressway’s Direct Route to Noida International Airport Cargo Terminal

Expediting Progress: Yamuna Expressway Authority’s Strategic Move to Connect Airport with Express Entry for Cargos

In a bid to streamline logistical operations and enhance connectivity, the Yamuna Expressway Authority has unveiled plans to construct an 11.7-kilometer road directly linking the Yamuna Expressway to the Noida International Airport Cargo Terminal. This strategic initiative is poised to accelerate the project’s timeline, previously slated to be managed by external agencies.

Project Details:

Route Specifics: The proposed road will span from the Zero Point on the Yamuna Expressway, situated at 28.4 kilometers, to the cargo terminal at the Noida International Airport. By establishing a direct connection, the initiative aims to facilitate seamless transit of goods to and from the airport.

Construction Phases: With construction set to commence this month, the project is slated for completion before the airport achieves full operational status.

Connectivity and Infrastructure:

Enhancements: The newly planned road will integrate with industrial sectors 29, 32, 9, 5, 7, 8, and others, optimizing the transportation of goods. Designed with a width of 75 meters within sectors and 45 meters outside, the road will accommodate heavy freight traffic efficiently.

Total Investment: The project commands a budget of 63 crore rupees, underscoring the significance of robust infrastructure to bolster the airport’s cargo operations.

Additional Elements: In addition to the primary roadway, a 120-meter elevated structure leading to the terminal will be erected, further streamlining vehicular and cargo movement.

Expected Outcomes:

Economic Impact: By enhancing connectivity to the forthcoming Noida International Airport, the infrastructure endeavor is poised to stimulate local and regional economic activities, particularly within the cargo and freight sectors.

Operational Efficiency: As the airport’s air facility-related constructions near completion, the timely execution of the road project assumes paramount importance. Dr. Arunveer Singh, CEO of the Yamuna Authority, has reaffirmed ongoing efforts to finalize terminal works by September.

InShorts:

This strategic infrastructure development heralds a new era of logistical efficiency and operational efficacy. By bolstering connectivity and facilitating smoother cargo transit, the initiative is poised to underpin the anticipated surge in cargo traffic once the Noida International Airport commences full-scale operations. As construction progresses, stakeholders remain optimistic about the transformative impact of this initiative on regional development and economic growth.
