The UAN, a 12-digit identification crucial for Provident Fund-related tasks, is now easily accessible through EPFO’s online services, ensuring a hassle-free experience for individuals navigating through job transitions.
In the current landscape, where job changes are frequent as professionals explore new opportunities, the UAN serves as a constant in the financial journey of employees. Similar to Aadhaar, the UAN remains unchanged irrespective of job shifts, emphasizing its significance in managing Provident Fund accounts.
To retrieve your UAN number online, follow these simple steps:
- Visit the official EPFO website: https://www.epfindia.gov.in/site_en/index.php
- Navigate to “For Employees” section: Under Services, select “Member UAN/Online Service (OCS/OTCP).”
- Access “Know your UAN”: Locate it under Important Links on the right side of the page.
- Provide details: Enter your registered mobile number and captcha to receive an OTP.
- Validate OTP: Enter the received OTP, along with your name, date of birth, member ID, Aadhaar or PAN number, and captcha. Click on “Show My UAN.”
- Receive UAN: Your UAN number will be sent to your registered mobile number.
For those who have not activated their UAN, the activation process is equally straightforward:
- Visit EPFO website: Click on “For Employee” in the Services menu.
- Choose “Member UAN/Online Service”: On the Services page, select “Activate Universal Account Number (UAN).”
- Fill in details: Provide your UAN number, date of birth, mobile number, and captcha. Click on “Get Authorization Pin.”
- Verify and activate: Enter the OTP received on your registered mobile, verify details, agree to the terms, and activate your UAN.
