Managed by the Northern Railway (NR) zone, this dedicated pilgrimage route aims to facilitate a smoother and quicker travel experience for devotees.
Operated under the banner of Reserved Festival Special Trains, the SVDK-Katihar-SVDK Express Train (train number 04640/04639) covers a distance of over 1500 kilometers in an impressive duration of 35 hours and 30 minutes. Surpassing other trains on the same route, including the Lohit Express, this specialized service is set to redefine the travel experience for Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrims.
The SVDK-Katihar-SVDK Reserved Festival Special Express Train follows a specific schedule. Departing from Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra on November 15, 2023, at 21:30 hrs, it reached Katihar on November 17 at 09:00 hrs. On its return journey, the train (number 04639) left Katihar at 11:00 hrs on November 17, 2023, and is anticipated to reach the Union Territory on November 19 at 23:00 hrs.
With stops at 20 stations along its route, including significant locations like Jammu Tawi, Ludhiana, Saharanpur, Gorakhpur, and Begusarai, the SVDK-Katihar-SVDK Reserved Festival Special Express aims to provide accessible connectivity for pilgrims throughout the journey.
