Delhi’s Delightful Makeover: From Dumpsite to Leisure Haven – Bawana Park Unveiled!

Delhi’s landscape is graced by a splendid addition as a new park, a gift to its citizens, opens its doors to the public. Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena recently inaugurated a musical fountain in Bawana, underscoring the transformation of a once-dismal location into a vibrant and inviting picnic destination.

From Dumpsite to Delightful Destination

A mere year ago, the site in front of the Sarai Kale Khan bus stand was marred by a sprawling garbage dump. However, thanks to the Delhi Development Authority (DDA), this eyesore has undergone a miraculous metamorphosis. The once-blighted area now beckons visitors not only for leisurely strolls but also for weekend picnics.

A Scenic Oasis by the Yamuna

Nestled on the banks of the Yamuna, Bawana Park adopts a bamboo-themed aesthetic. Its recent additions include a spectacular musical fountain, situated amidst three enchanting lakes. This picturesque setting is set to become a magnet for those seeking laser and entertainment experiences.

Musical Fountain Extravaganza

The musical fountain promises delightful evenings as it enchants visitors with captivating displays. This aquatic spectacle graces the park six days a week, from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm. Children aged 10 and below enjoy complimentary entry, while a nominal fee ensures accessibility for others. LG VK Saxena emphasized the necessity for such entertainment and laser shows across the capital.

A Vision of River Connection

Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena emphasized that riverfront locations along the Yamuna hold the potential to bridge the gap between the people and the river. As part of this vision, plans include the construction of a convention hall, a recreational center, a cultural venue, and a range of restaurants.

Delhiites can now relish the beauty of this rejuvenated park and anticipate a future enriched by its cultural, recreational, and entertainment offerings.
