Delhi Metro Revolutionizes Travel with QR Code Tickets via Paytm App

In a significant move to enhance the travel experience of Delhi Metro commuters, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has introduced a groundbreaking feature – the ability to purchase QR code-based tickets through the Paytm app. This new initiative aims to simplify and expedite the ticket purchase process, offering passengers a seamless and convenient way to access the metro.

Simplifying Metro Travel with QR Codes

Gone are the days of queuing up at vending machines for metro tickets. With the introduction of QR code-based tickets, DMRC is taking a giant leap towards digitization and cashless transactions. Passengers can now effortlessly procure QR code-based tickets using their smartphones, ensuring a smoother and more efficient metro journey.

DMRC Managing Director Dr. Vikas Kumar and Paytm Chief Business Officer Abhay Sharma graced the launch event of this innovative facility. The QR code ticketing system has now become a part of DMRC’s array of ticketing options, including UPI, credit/debit cards, and net banking.

A Stress-Free Commute Awaits

This innovative facility allows passengers to book tickets across the entire Delhi Metro network, streamlining their travel experience. QR code ticketing is a testament to DMRC’s commitment to simplifying the ticketing process. Recent initiatives have seen QR ticketing options integrated into ticket vending machines, mobile apps, ticket windows, and even WhatsApp.

With this new feature, passengers can conveniently purchase mobile QR tickets via the Paytm app, selecting their desired destinations within the Delhi Metro section. Upon reaching the metro station, passengers can effortlessly scan their mobile QR tickets using their smartphones at the entry and exit points.

Vikas Kumar emphasized that extending ticketing services through the app is a pivotal step toward offering a stress-free and efficient mode of transportation to the vast number of metro passengers in the national capital. In addition to this groundbreaking ticketing system, DMRC has announced that train services will commence at 3.45 am from the terminal stations of all metro lines on October 15, coinciding with the Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon.
