Deccan Express Vistadome Shatters Records with Unprecedented Passenger Occupancy

In a remarkable achievement, the Deccan Express, operating between Mumbai and Pune, has witnessed an astounding surge in passenger occupancy within its Vistadome coaches, according to the latest statistics released by Central Railway (CR) on Sunday.

The Vistadome coaches of Deccan Express achieved maximum occupancy with 26,269 passengers, reaching an impressive 99.5%, closely trailed by the Mumbai-Pune Pragati Express, which recorded 26,183 passengers at 99.2%. The popularity of these coaches underscores the growing preference for a scenic and comfortable travel experience.

When comparing revenue figures, the Mumbai-Karmali Tejas Express emerged as the revenue leader with Rs 6.2 crore, followed closely by the CSMT-Madgaon Janshatabdi Express, which generated Rs 5.1 crore in revenue. These statistics highlight the financial success of premium train services provided by CR.

A senior official revealed that a substantial 1.5 lakh passengers opted for the premium seats in Vistadome coaches of CR trains between April 2023 and January 2024, contributing to an impressive revenue of Rs 22 crore during this period.

CR’s chief spokesperson, Swapnil Nila, expressed enthusiasm about the accomplishment, stating, “Whether it is the breathtaking views of the valleys, rivers, and waterfalls along the Mumbai-Goa route or the Western Ghats along the Mumbai-Pune route, Vistadome coaches, with glass tops and wide window panes, have proved to be a hit.”

The success of Deccan Express’s Vistadome coaches not only signifies the appeal of picturesque train journeys but also highlights the growing demand for a unique and comfortable travel experience among passengers.
