Ayodhya’s Post-Janmabhoomi Plans: 13 New Temples for ‘Ram Parivar’ Unveiled

Ayodhya, India: Following the historic consecration of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple on January 22, 2024, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Ram Janambhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust has announced ambitious plans to construct at least 13 additional temples within the temple complex.

Treasurer Swami Gurudev Giriji, in an exclusive interview with NDTV, disclosed that the ongoing work includes the construction of the second floor of the main temple, with subsequent plans to complete the central dome, known as the shikhar. Once the main temple is fully realized, attention will shift to constructing five key temples dedicated to “Ram Parivar” in the surrounding areas.

Given Lord Ram’s status as an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, the proposed temples will be devoted to Lord Ganapati, Shiva, Surya, and Goddess Jagdamba, strategically placed in the four corners of the main temple. Additionally, a separate temple will honor Lord Hanuman, known as Ram’s devoted disciple.

Swami Gurudev Giriji outlined further plans, revealing that near the Sita Rasoi, a temple dedicated to Goddess Annapurna will be erected. Beyond the Ram Mandir complex, temples dedicated to Saints Valmiki, Vashist, Vishwamitra, Devi Shavari, and the legendary bird Jatayu are also part of the ambitious expansion project.

The Ram Mandir complex officially opened to the public on January 23, 2024. The inaugural day witnessed the presence of nearly three lakh devotees who gathered to offer prayers at the temple, joyously welcoming Lord Ram back to his birthplace after a gap of 550 years.
