Amitabh Bachchan Invests in Ayodhya: Buys Prime Plot in Exclusive Enclave for Future Home

Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan has made a significant investment in Ayodhya, purchasing a prime plot in The Sarayu, a 7-star mixed-use enclave developed by The House of Abhinandan Lodha. The exclusive property, set to be formally launched on January 22, aligns with the consecration event of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Temple.

While the specifics of the deal remain confidential, real estate sources estimate the plot to be around 10,000 square feet with a value of ₹14.5 crore. The Sarayu, spread over 51 acres, positions itself as a unique venture embodying tradition and modernity in Ayodhya.

Expressing his anticipation for the project, Amitabh Bachchan stated, “I am looking forward to embark on this journey with The House of Abhinandan Lodha for The Sarayu in Ayodhya, a city that holds a special place in my heart.”

The Sarayu is strategically located about 15 minutes away from the ram temple and 30 minutes from the Ayodhya international airport. Abhinandan Lodha, Chairman of The House of Abhinandan Lodha, hailed Bachchan as the “first citizen” of The Sarayu, emphasizing the actor’s investment as a testament to Ayodhya’s economic potential and spiritual heritage.

Bachchan’s investment focuses on the plotted development within The Sarayu, complementing the enclave’s offerings that include a five-star palace hotel in collaboration with Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts, owned by the Brookfield group. The entire project is slated for completion by March 2028.

The move follows Ayodhya’s notable infrastructural development since 2019, marked by the Supreme Court’s verdict awarding the site of the Babri Masjid to Hindus. The subsequent rise in land prices within and around Ayodhya reflects the city’s growing prominence.

In October 2023, Anuj Puri, Chairman of Anarock Group, reported a surge of nearly 25-30% in property prices post the verdict, with land prices varying from ₹1,500 to ₹3,000 per sqft on the outskirts and ₹4,000 to ₹6,000 per sqft within city limits.

Launched in 2021, The House of Abhinandan Lodha has garnered attention for revolutionizing the land buying experience with transparency and global accessibility. The Ayodhya project with Amitabh Bachchan’s involvement is expected to add a new dimension to the city’s global spiritual significance.
