Air India Announces Direct Flights Between Kolkata and Bangkok from 23rd October

Air India, India’s renowned global airline, is set to launch a new non-stop flight route connecting Kolkata and Bangkok, beginning from the 23rd of October 2023. The introduction of this direct service, timed to coincide with the festive season in Kolkata, aims to provide travelers with a convenient and hassle-free connection between these two vibrant cities.

The newly established flight, known as AI322, will depart from Kolkata at 2200 hrs, arriving in Bangkok at 0205 hrs the following morning. For the return journey, flight AI321 will take off from Bangkok at 0305 hrs, landing in Kolkata at 0410 hrs (all times are local). Operating six days a week, from Monday to Saturday, this service will utilize a narrowbody Airbus family aircraft and offer a two-class configuration, including Economy and Business Class.

In addition to bolstering tourism and trade ties between Kolkata and Bangkok, this direct route will present Air India passengers with a unique opportunity. Travelers can conveniently access connections via Bangkok to and from ten popular destinations in Thailand, Laos, and Cambodia, leveraging Air India’s interline partnership with Bangkok Airways, which provides seamless travel options beyond Bangkok.

Currently, Air India operates a total of 14 weekly flights to Bangkok, with daily non-stop services from Delhi and Mumbai serving the route. This latest route expansion aligns with Air India’s commitment to enhancing connectivity, increasing flight frequency on domestic and international routes, and bolstering its fleet with modern aircraft as part of its ongoing transformation journey.

Bookings for these flights are already open and can be made through various channels, including Air India’s official website (www.airindia.com), mobile app, and via travel agents, including online travel agencies.

About Air India:

Founded under the visionary leadership of JRD Tata, Air India has been a pioneering force in India’s aviation sector. Since its maiden flight on October 15, 1932, Air India has developed an extensive domestic network and offers non-stop flights to a multitude of global destinations, spanning the USA, Canada, UK, Europe, Far East, South-East Asia, Australia, and the Gulf region. Following a 69-year tenure as a government-owned entity, Air India and Air India Express were reintegrated into the Tata Group in January 2022.

Under the guidance of Vihaan.AI, a comprehensive five-year transformation initiative, Air India aims to evolve into a world-class airline with an unwavering Indian identity. The initial phase of this transformative journey, the “taxi phase,” has recently concluded and involved a focus on fundamental improvements, including the revival of numerous long-grounded aircraft, talent acquisition across flight and ground operations, swift technology upgrades, and the enhancement of customer care initiatives.

As a proud member of the Star Alliance, the world’s largest global airline consortium, Air India offers seamless connectivity and top-notch facilities to travelers worldwide.
