AIIMS Consolidates Pediatric Facilities in New Mother and Child Block

In a strategic move aimed at enhancing medical services and convenience, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) is in the process of relocating pediatric treatment facilities from its new private ward to the recently inaugurated Mother and Child Block. This transition, directed by the AIIMS Director, is scheduled to be completed by September 30, bringing together all services related to children and women under one roof.

Significant Enhancements Include Chemotherapy Services

One of the notable changes resulting from this relocation is the provision of chemotherapy services for cancer patients. The underutilized space in the new private ward will now be dedicated to administering chemotherapy to cancer patients. Previously, the pediatric department’s nursery was housed in the private ward due to the underdeveloped nursery facilities in the Mother and Child Block. With the completion of the nursery facilities in the latter, services for the treatment of children are being seamlessly transferred.

This strategic realignment aligns with AIIMS’ commitment to streamline and optimize its medical services. By centralizing all pediatric services in the Mother and Child Block, the institute aims to offer greater convenience to both patients and healthcare providers. This consolidation will provide a more efficient and holistic approach to the care of children and women seeking treatment at AIIMS.

In conclusion, AIIMS’ decision to relocate pediatric facilities to the new Mother and Child Block signifies a significant step toward improving the quality and accessibility of medical services. With this transition, patients can expect more streamlined and comprehensive care for themselves and their children.
