A Fragrant Prelude: Ayodhya’s Colossal Incense Stick Illuminates the Path to Ram Temple

In a momentous ceremony in Ayodhya, Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, the head of the Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, illuminated a remarkable 108-foot-long incense stick, symbolizing the spiritual journey leading to the consecration of the Ram Temple. The colossal incense stick, weighing 3,610 kg and brought all the way from Gujarat, adds a unique fragrance to the anticipation surrounding the historic event scheduled for January 22.

The ceremonial lighting, witnessed by a massive gathering echoing the chants of ‘Jai Shri Ram,’ is expected to infuse the air with its divine aroma, reaching a distance of 50 km. The preparation of this significant religious item involved a blend of cow dung, ghee, essence, flower extracts, and herbs. Once ignited, the incense stick is set to emit its sacred fragrance for about a month and a half.

This symbolic act serves as a prelude to the much-awaited consecration ceremony of the Ram temple, bringing an additional layer of spiritual fervor to the historic occasion. The Sri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust’s meticulous arrangements and the monumental incense stick contribute to the sacred atmosphere surrounding the temple.
