2024 to Witness the Launch of Vande Bharat Sleeper Train and Vande Metro

Vande Bharat Sleeper Coach to be Introduced in Metro from Next Year

New Delhi is all set to witness a significant transformation in its rail travel experience in 2024 with the introduction of the Vande Bharat Sleeper Coach and Vande Metro. BG Mallya, General Manager of the Integral Coach Factory (ICF), announced on Saturday that the first Vande Bharat sleeper train is scheduled to commence operations in March 2024, and construction is already in progress.

Currently, the country is served by Vande Bharat trains equipped with chair car facilities. However, the ICF is gearing up for a groundbreaking development with the Vande Train, a new 12-coach train designed specifically for short-distance travel. It’s worth noting that 25 Vande Bharat trains have already been launched, and in August, railway officials hinted at the impending launch of the first non-air-conditioned Vande Bharat train in October.

The Vande Bharat Sleeper project is a collaborative effort between Rail Vikas Nigam Limited and the TMH Group of Russia. This 16-coach sleeper train is expected to operate at a maximum speed of 160 kilometers per hour, promising passengers a comfortable and efficient travel experience. This addition aims to enhance the existing Vande Bharat fleet, offering more diverse travel options.

In addition to the Vande Bharat Sleeper, the Vande Metro is another noteworthy development set to commence operations in 2024. These initiatives align with the Indian government’s vision of modernizing the railway network, improving connectivity, and ensuring a world-class travel experience for commuters.

In conclusion, the introduction of the Vande Bharat Sleeper Coach and Vande Metro in 2024 represents a significant stride in the advancement of India’s railway services. The expansion of the Vande Bharat fleet and the creation of the Vande Train offer passengers more choices, while the increased speed capability of the sleeper coach promises faster and more efficient travel. The collaboration between Rail Vikas Nigam Limited and the TMH Group of Russia exemplifies the global partnerships contributing to these modern rail services. With these initiatives, India’s railway system continues to move closer to providing world-class transportation solutions for its citizens.
