Divine Opulence: Unveiling the Exquisite Jewellery Adorning Lord Ram at Ayodhya’s Ram Temple

Ayodhya: In a union of artistry and spirituality, the idol of Ram Lalla at the newly inaugurated Ram Temple in Ayodhya is adorned with opulent jewellery crafted from 15 kg of gold, 18,000 diamonds, and emeralds. This sacred ensemble, consisting of 14 meticulously designed pieces, captures the divine essence of Lord Ram as a five-year-old child.

Crafting Divinity: Jewellery Inspired by Sacred Texts

Dedicated artisans, drawing inspiration from sacred texts such as the Adhyatma Ramayana, Srimad Valmiki Ramayana, Shri Ramcharitmanas, and Aalavandar Stotra, meticulously created each piece of jewellery. The objective was to reflect the scripture-based beauty of Lord Ram, as described in these revered texts.

14 Pieces of Jewellery in 12 Days

The elaborate jewellery set comprises a tilak, a crown, four necklaces, a waistband, two pairs of anklets, Vijay Mala, and two rings. Remarkably, this intricate work was completed in just 12 days, showcasing the dedication and skill of the craftsmen involved.

Centrepiece Crown: Symbolism in Gold and Gems

The crown, serving as the centrepiece of the ensemble, is a masterpiece of detail and symbolism. Crafted from 22-carat gold, it weighs approximately 1.7 kg and features 75-carat diamonds, 175-carat Zambian emeralds, and 262-carat rubies. The crown’s design resembles the turban of a five-year-old boy, symbolizing Lord Ram’s tender age. It also showcases the symbol of Lord Surya, denoting Ram’s Suryavanshi lineage.

Tilak and Emerald Ring: Symbolizing Wisdom and Harmony

The tilak, a divine marking on the forehead, uses 16 grams of gold with three-carat diamonds in the center and 10-carat diamonds on either side. An emerald ring, weighing 65 grams, symbolizes Lord Ram’s wisdom and harmonious relationship with nature during his forest-dwelling days. With four-carat diamonds and 33-carat emeralds, the ring is a testament to the intricate detailing.
