Tecno Unveils Futuristic Phantom Ultimate Rollable Smartphone at MWC 2024

Chinese smartphone manufacturer Tecno took center stage at Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2024, showcasing the real prototypes of its groundbreaking rollable phone, the Phantom Ultimate. Initially presented as a concept in a demo video last year, the company has now provided a hands-on look at the device, emphasizing its futuristic design and innovative features.

Display Transformation in a Blink: The Phantom Ultimate boasts a 6.55″ display, but its standout feature lies in its ability to expand to a larger 7.11-inch screen within a mere 1.3 seconds with a simple button press. The device introduces a unique “second display” on the back, essentially a main screen that wraps around the device, promising a dynamic and versatile user experience.

Ultra-Slim Design and Advanced Software: Measuring just 9.93mm in thickness (excluding edge trim), the Phantom Ultimate emphasizes an ultra-slim design. Tecno has incorporated advanced software enhancements, providing support for customizable dynamic wallpapers, desktop effects, and an always-on display (AOD). These features aim to deliver a seamless and personalized user interface.

Launch Expectations and Future Rollables: While the Phantom Ultimate remains in the prototype stage, Tecno aims to release the next-gen device in Q3, 2024, according to speculations. However, official confirmation is pending, and enthusiasts are advised to await further details from the company.

Comprehensive Lineup at MWC 2024: In addition to the Phantom Ultimate, Tecno introduced the Camon 30 series at MWC 2024. The high-end Camon 30 Premier, equipped with a dedicated Sony ISP and PolarAce Imaging System, runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 8200-Ultra SoC and supports 70W wired fast charging. The series also includes the Camon 30, Camon 30 5G, and Camon 30 Pro 5G, with availability details yet to be disclosed.

Furthermore, Tecno expanded its portfolio to include the Tecno Megabook T16 Pro 2024 Ultra laptop. Featuring a sleek design, a 16-inch screen with 2.5k resolution, and 400 nits of brightness, the laptop is powered by the Intel Core Ultra 7 processor and an Arc mobile GPU for graphics. Boasting a 99.99Wh battery with 100W fast charging, the Megabook T16 Pro 2024 Ultra aims to make a mark in the laptop market.
