Redmi Note 13 Will Get Android Updates For Next 3 Years; But No Out Of The Box HyperOS (Tipster Claims)

As anticipation builds for the HyperOS massive update, which is poised to encompass nearly 100 phones and tablets from Xiaomi and Redmi in the first half of 2024, recent rumors have surfaced suggesting unexpected exclusions from the list. Contrary to prior indications, some devices that were initially slated to receive the OS update early are now rumored to be omitted from the HyperOS rollout.

Sudhanshu Ambhore’s Insight: Redmi Note 13 Series Exclusion

Twitter tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore has brought forward surprising information, asserting that the entire Redmi Note 13 series will not be part of the HyperOS update. According to Ambhore, these phones are set to ship with MIUI 14 based on Android 13, both in India and globally. While users can expect a generous 3 years of Android updates (up to Android 16) and 4 years of security updates, the anticipated HyperOS inclusion for these devices seems to be deferred.

Unveiling Redmi Note 13 Series: Expectations and Features

With Xiaomi gearing up to unveil the Redmi Note 13 series at an event scheduled for January 4, 2024, users are eagerly anticipating a host of impressive hardware and feature upgrades. The Pro model, in particular, is expected to boast a 6.67-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, a remarkable 200MP main camera, and the Pro+ variant offering IP68 resistance and a Dimensity 7200 Ultra chipset (the Pro likely featuring a Snapdragon 7 Gen 2). A substantial 5,100mAh battery is expected to power these devices.

European pricing details have emerged, with the Pro model priced at €450 and the Pro+ at €500. Color options include black, blue, and white, and a 12/512GB RAM variant has been revealed. The standard Redmi Note 13 5G, equipped with a Dimensity 6080 SoC, and all models featuring a 16MP front camera, promise a compelling combination of features. With the Pro and Pro+ models incorporating additional 8MP and 2MP rear cameras, coupled with fast charging capabilities, in-display fingerprint sensors, and an IP68 rating for durability, the Redmi Note 13 series aims to make a substantial impact in the smartphone market.
