Investor Alert: NSE Flags Unregistered Telegram Scheme Offering Stock Tips and Assured Returns

In a cautionary notice issued by the National Stock Exchange of India Limited (NSE), investors are urged to exercise caution regarding a Telegram channel named “Premium By Vijay.” The channel allegedly provides securities market tips, accompanied by promises of assured returns on stock market investments. The NSE emphasizes that subscribing to schemes or products promising indicative, assured, or guaranteed returns in the stock market is prohibited by law.

The notice highlights that the individual or entity behind the Telegram channel “Premium By Vijay” is neither registered as a member nor an authorized person of any registered NSE member. Investors are strongly advised against participating in such schemes, as doing so is at their own risk, cost, and consequences.

To assist investors in verifying the credentials of market participants, the NSE provides a “Know/Locate your Stock Broker” facility on its website. Investors can use this tool to check details of registered members and their authorized persons. The tool also displays designated bank accounts disclosed by trading members for transactions with investors.

Participation in prohibited schemes means investors will not have access to investor protection benefits under the Exchange’s jurisdiction, its dispute resolution mechanism, or the grievance redressal mechanism administered by the Exchange for disputes related to such schemes.

The NSE underscores the importance of verifying details before engaging with any person or entity offering stock market tips or investment schemes, prioritizing investor protection and adherence to legal guidelines.
