Gaming Powerhouse CyberPowerPC Ventures into India with High Expectations

California-based gaming PC company CyberPowerPC has made its entry into the Indian market through a joint venture with Indian firm Creative Newtech. This collaboration marks the establishment of CyberPowerPC India, poised to introduce a range of gaming rigs and gaming configurators to Indian consumers.

Strategic Partnerships and Market Presence

CyberPowerPC, a market leader in the US, boasts partnerships with several renowned brands, including Intel, Microsoft, Nvidia, AMD, ASUS, Gigabyte, MSI, Zotac, Kingston, Western Digital, Cooler Master, Adata, Phanteks, and Lian Li. These alliances are expected to enhance the brand’s offerings in India, providing high-performance gaming solutions.

Leadership and Vision

The joint venture has appointed Vishal Parekh, former marketing head of NODWIN Gaming, as the brand’s Chief Operating Officer in India. Parekh will spearhead CyberPowerPC’s operations in the country, leveraging his extensive experience in the gaming industry.

“We have been keenly observing the Indian gaming market for a while, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity for us to launch in the country. The Indian gaming market is poised for exponential growth, and we believe our more than 25 years of experience and expertise will contribute to this growing industry. CyberPowerPC is set to elevate the Indian gaming experience to new heights,” said Eric Cheung, founder and CEO of CyberPowerPC.

Indian Gaming Market Outlook

CyberPowerPC’s entry into India coincides with a significant growth phase in the Indian digital gaming industry, which is projected to more than double, reaching $7.5 billion by FY28. This growth is driven by an increase in in-app purchases, advertising revenues, and an expanding user base. In FY23, India was home to 568 million gamers, 25% of whom were paying users.

The upcoming years are expected to be pivotal for gaming studios in India, with investors increasingly focusing on this sector. This trend is anticipated to make gaming a primary growth driver for the industry in the near future.

Notable Developments in the Indian Gaming Scene

Recent investments underscore the growing interest in the Indian gaming market. LightFury Games, a startup founded by Unacademy’s former chief marketing officer and partner Karan Shroff, secured $8.5 million (INR 71.1 crore) in seed funding led by Blume Ventures. The startup aims to develop AAA games in India, initially focusing on mobile gaming before expanding to other platforms, including consoles.

Growth of Gaming Hardware

The demand for gaming laptops and PCs is steadily rising in India. Brands like HP are witnessing increased adoption of gaming laptops, reflecting the broader trend of gaming’s contribution to the overall PC industry. This shift indicates a burgeoning market for high-performance gaming hardware, aligning with CyberPowerPC’s strategic entry into the country.
