Shiv Sena Unveils ‘Mission 48’ – Aiming for a Clean Sweep in Maharashtra Lok Sabha Seats

In the wake of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s triumphant victory in the assembly polls of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Rajasthan, the Shiv Sena, led by Eknath Shinde, has declared an ambitious objective for the ruling alliance. The party aims to secure all 48 Lok Sabha seats in Maharashtra, surpassing their earlier target of 45 seats. This ambitious resolution, termed ‘Mission 48,’ was officially passed on Sunday during an executive meeting of the Shiv Sena at a ministerial bungalow off Napean Sea Road.

The meeting saw the attendance of key figures, including party MPs, MLAs, former corporators, district chiefs, and leaders from the youth wing, Yuva Sena. Industries minister Uday Samant expressed his congratulations to the BJP for its impressive victories, emphasizing the rejection of corruption and misrule by the Congress.

“We have passed a resolution to win 48 seats in the state after today’s result. The opposition had created a bubble for itself, which has burst,” said Samant. He added that riding on the Modi wave, the NDA is expected to secure more than 350 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

Addressing concerns about internal discord, Samant announced a zero-tolerance policy for statements against the party. He highlighted that those working against the party’s interests would face consequences from a disciplinary committee. This stance comes in the aftermath of the arrest of former mayor Datta Dalvi of Shiv Sena (UBT) for launching a personal attack on Chief Minister Eknath Shinde.

Chief Minister Shinde urged party leaders to accelerate the membership drive, strengthen the party organization, and publicize government schemes. He criticized some party leaders for not being available to the public, emphasizing the need for enhanced visibility. Shinde also took a swipe at his rival, Uddhav Thackeray, stating, “Had Congress won, some parties would have danced.” The meeting concluded with a resolution congratulating PM Modi for the inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.
