Aurangabad, January 13, 2024: The EMMTC – MSLTA Asian Under 14 Tennis Championship is all set to captivate tennis enthusiasts as more than 120 entries from talented boys and girls pour in for the prestigious event. Organized under the auspices of the Asian Tennis Federation (ATF), All India Tennis Association (AITA), and the Maharashtra State Lawn Tennis Association (MSLTA), the championship will take place at the EMMTC Tennis Complex in Aurangabad from January 14 to 20, 2024.

Praneet Reddy of Tamil Nadu and Aahana of Odisha emerge as the top-ranked players in the boys and girls seeding lists, adding an extra layer of excitement to the tournament played on the clay courts of the EMMTC complex.

Mr. Sunder Iyer, Honorary Secretary of MSLTA, expresses enthusiasm for hosting the first-ever Asian Ranking event for under 14 players in Aurangabad. The tournament’s back draw structure promises immense opportunities for players to gain exposure and enhance their skills.

Previously, MSLTA and EMMTC have successfully organized the AITA Under 14 Junior Championships and Under 16 Asian Ranking Championships, contributing to the growth of tennis in Aurangabad and providing regional players from Marathwada with valuable opportunities to earn points without extensive travel.

“We are thankful to Mrs. Varsha Jain for their unparalleled support to tennis activities, helping the game flourish not only in Aurangabad but also in Beed, Parbhani, Nanded, and Jalna,” added Mr. Iyer.

The winner of the championship will receive a trophy and 300 ATF points, while the runner-up will be awarded a trophy along with 250 ATF points.

Mrs. Varsha Jain will take on the role of tournament director, with Vaishali Shekatkar appointed as the AITA Supervisor. Pravin Prasad and Pavin Gaisamudre have been designated as Chief Referees for the event, ensuring smooth conduct.

A special committee, led by Sanjay Dutta and Ashutosh Mishra, along with the EMMTC team, has been formed to oversee the seamless execution of the tournament.
