Samruddhi Mahamarg: 3-Hour Daily Closure for 5 Days to Facilitate Power Grid Tower Construction

Samruddhi Mahamarg

In a development that may affect commuters, the Samruddhi Mahamarg, a vital road link in Maharashtra, is set to experience daily closures lasting three hours for a span of five days. The closure, scheduled from October 10 to October 12 and later on October 25 and October 26, will take place between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. on each of these days. The reason behind this temporary shutdown is the installation of electricity wires needed for the construction of a power grid transmission tower.

Ramdas Khalse, the Executive Engineer of the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation Limited (MSRDC), provided insights into this brief but essential disruption. He explained, “The 50 to 55 km stretch, from Jalna to Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, will remain closed for 5 days, i.e., from October 10 to October 12, and again on October 25 and October 26, from 12 pm to 3 pm every day. The Power Grid Transmission tower will be constructed on Samruddhi Highway. For the work of installing electricity wires and construction work, traffic on both sides between Jalna and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar will be closed.”

To minimize inconvenience for travelers during this period, alternative traffic routes and diversions have been arranged. Here are the details of the alternative routes:

  1. Traffic from Nagpur to Mumbai: For those traveling on Samruddhi Highway from Jalna Interchange (IC-14) to Savangi Interchange (IC-16), a detour will be in place. Traffic will be directed from Nidhona (Jalna) Interchange IC-14, proceeding via Nidhona MIDC and National Highway 753 A (Jalna-Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar) until reaching Cambridge School. From there, a right turn will lead them to Savangi Bypass and, ultimately, to Savangi Interchange no IC-16 (Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar), rejoining Samruddhi Mahamarg for the onward journey to Shirdi.
  2. Traffic from Shirdi to Nagpur: Travelers going from Shirdi to Nagpur on Samriddhi Highway can follow the same route in the opposite direction. Starting from Savangi Interchange no IC-16 (Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar), they will proceed via the above-mentioned route in reverse. Traffic will enter Samriddhi Highway at the Nidhona (Jalna) Interchange no IC-14 and continue toward Nagpur.

This temporary closure aims to facilitate the essential construction work of the power grid transmission tower and the installation of electricity wires. Authorities are committed to minimizing disruption and ensuring a smooth flow of traffic once the work is completed.
