Maratha Community Survey: Maharashtra Extends Deadline for In-Depth Social Analysis

In an effort to assess the social, educational, and economic status of the Maratha community, the Maharashtra State Backward Classes Commission has undertaken a comprehensive survey. Initially scheduled to conclude on January 31, 2024, the survey’s deadline has been extended to February 2, 2024, in specific areas where additional time is required.

Survey Procedure and Scope:

The survey, facilitated by officials equipped with identity cards from the Commission, focuses on gathering information about the Maratha community’s social, educational, and economic conditions. A mobile application is being utilized to administer a questionnaire, obtaining data from both the Maratha community and the open category. Once a family is identified as belonging to the reserved category, no further information is solicited.

Due to the tight timeframe, survey officials are encouraged to conduct interviews either early in the morning or late in the evening, allowing for efficient data collection.

Citizens’ Cooperation Urged:

The Maharashtra State Backward Classes Commission emphasizes the importance of citizens’ cooperation in providing essential information to the survey officials during this time-sensitive process. The aim is to ensure a thorough and accurate assessment of the Maratha community’s backwardness across various dimensions.
