Maharashtra Weather Update: Heavy Rain and Yellow Alert in Select Districts

The weather pattern in Maharashtra has been displaying unpredictable behavior lately, with some regions experiencing unseasonal rain. However, today’s forecast indicates that rain will be limited to a few districts, contrasting with the widespread showers observed last week. Here’s a breakdown of the current weather situation:

🌧️ Rain Forecast

Thunderstorms, accompanied by isolated thundershowers, gusty winds (speed 30-40 kmph), and light to moderate rain, are anticipated in certain districts of Vidarbha today.

The following five districts are expected to receive rain:

  • Bhandara
  • Chandrapur
  • Gadchiroli
  • Gondia
  • Nagpur

A yellow alert has been issued for these districts due to the likelihood of heavy rain, strong winds, and lightning.

☀️ Heat Wave and Drought Conditions

In contrast, other districts of the state will grapple with heat waves and drought conditions today, with a severe heat wave warning issued for select areas. Citizens in the following districts should brace themselves for scorching temperatures:

  • Dhule
  • Jalgaon
  • Akola
  • Amravati

These districts have been placed under a yellow alert by the Meteorological Department.

🏙️ City Updates

Mumbai: The city and its suburbs will experience partial cloud cover in the morning, gradually clearing up by afternoon/evening. Maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 34°C and 29°C, respectively.

Pune: Unseasonal rain is forecasted for Pune on May 25, with similar weather patterns anticipated on May 28, 29, and 30.
